Revisiting Windows 1.0 on the Rainbow

Since getting the Rainbow to output in colour and on a proper modern display, I decided to try out Windows 1.0 properly.

As I mentioned in my last post about Windows on the Rainbow, colour isn’t supported and using a colour display will result in a blue and white image. Below is a video showing the process of starting Windows and having a quick look at a few of the bundled applications, starting with the original Microsoft Paint!

I recently found in a box of old manuals and cables, a proper digital branded mouse mat! It is pictured below with the Microsoft Serial Mouse 2.0a that I use on the Rainbow.

I hope you have enjoyed this closer look at Windows 1.0 on the Rainbow, the video is certainly much better than the last one I did and actually shows the mouse working this time!
